How to improve work delegation in your company?



      Pick the right person for each task – assign the right tasks to those with the right qualifications.

Understand that employees takes time to learn and then perform which will take time

 

Provide continuous feedback on how to perform new tasks and know exactly what they are doing right and what could be done better


Giving employees the freedom to do things both wrong and right will help them to better learn how to perform the tasks on their own. This will feel more trusted and valued.
Appreciate and give recognition - Genuinely appreciative and recognize them in front of peers, provide incentive will boost an employee’s confidence and motivation.

  1. While I was studying the topic in discussion I came across several other factors the ensures effective job delegation.
    1. Learn to let go - Managers/leaders needs to be mentally prepared for delegation (by taking out fear factors).
    2. Understand work priorities - As per urgency/importance matrix you need to identify correct jobs for delegation.
    3. Understand your employees strengths and weaknesses prior to delegation
    4. Provide proper instructions
    Once the delegation is done,
    a. Managers needs to trust the out put but verify
    b. Have feedback sessions
